What We Believe
At Gospel Community Church, our beliefs are rooted in the truth of Scripture and centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to faithfully teaching God’s Word, making disciples, and living out our faith in authentic community for the glory of God.
Core Beliefs
-
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all scripture is totally true and trustworthy.
-
We believe in one true and living God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in power and glory, fully God, and perfectly united in essence and purpose. God the Father is Creator and Sustainer, Jesus Christ the Son is our Savior and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers to live for Christ. The doctrine of the Trinity reveals God’s perfect nature and His loving work in creation, salvation, and the life of His Church.
-
We believe that baptism is an act of obedience for every believer who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is a public declaration of faith that symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, following the example of Scripture, as an outward expression of the inward transformation that comes through salvation. While baptism does not save, it is an important step of obedience and testimony in the life of every follower of Christ.
-
We believe communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is a sacred ordinance given by Jesus Christ for believers to remember His sacrifice on the cross. Through the bread and the cup, we reflect on Christ’s body broken for us and His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins. Communion is a time of worship, self-examination, and thanksgiving as we remember His grace, celebrate our unity as His Church, and proclaim His death until He returns.
-
We believe that salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, offered to all through faith in Jesus Christ. Because all people are separated from God by sin, salvation comes only through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, who paid the penalty for our sins. It is received by repentance and faith alone, not by works, and results in forgiveness, new life, and eternal relationship with God. Through salvation, believers are made new, adopted into God’s family, and empowered to live for His glory.
-
We believe the Church is called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and around the world. Missions are at the heart of God’s purpose, as He desires people from every nation, tribe, and tongue to know Him. We are committed to advancing the Great Commission through prayer, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and supporting those who faithfully carry the message of Christ to their communities and the nations.
-
We believe church membership is a biblical commitment to faithfully belong to and participate in the life of the local church. It is a covenant relationship in which believers commit to worship, grow in discipleship, serve one another, and live in loving accountability under the authority of God’s Word. Through membership, we pursue unity, encourage spiritual growth, and work together to fulfill the mission of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
-
We believe that every human life is sacred and created in the image of God, possessing inherent dignity and value from conception to natural death. Because life is God’s gift, it is to be protected, honored, and treated with compassion and respect at every stage. We are committed to upholding the biblical truth of the value of all people and to demonstrating the love and grace of Jesus Christ by caring for and serving others with dignity and compassion.
